From law to film making. Discovering the power of storytelling

Ever since I was a kid living in Mexico, I have been in love with movies. I watched The Karate Kid every Saturday on Canal 5, even recording it on VHS so I could rewatch it whenever I wanted. As a teenager, my brother and I would go to the local cinema every weekend, it felt like our second home. Afterward, we would talk for hours about what we had seen. (If podcasts had been a thing back then, we definitely would have started one!)

Over time, I became more aware of the power of storytelling and how a single idea can be told in countless ways. This realization led me to study law. At first glance, law and storytelling might not seem connected, but in reality, litigation is about narrating a story using evidence. Winning a case often depends on who tells the better, more believable story. This made me realize what I truly wanted: to tell stories—specifically through film.

In the summer of 2020, I moved to the Netherlands to pursue an MBA. For my master’s thesis, I researched customer experience in cinemas, which helped kick-start my journey in the entertainment industry.

Since then, I have been writing scripts, saving up to buy a camera, and finally starting to film in my free time.
